We are delighted to be announce that the Kakatsitsi Drummers from Ghana will be appearing with legendary dance music production gurus The Orb on the West-Holts Stage at the world famous Glastonbury Festival on Saturday 29th June. The fusion set will combine electronic beats, basslines, medlodies and samples from some of the The Orb's classic tracks with traditional drums and chants from the Master Drummers. The ground-breaking set will be rehearsed in Ghana in early May, with a couple of sneak preview showcase events in Accra. |
Kakatsitsi, Master Drummers from Ghana 2013 UK Tour
We are happy to announce that the Kakatsitsi Master Drummers from Ghana will be touring the UK and Europe in 2013.
In addition to the drummers who toured in 2012, some of whom have been in the group for upwards of 15 years and include some of Ghana's leading traditional drummers, the group will be bringing 2 female singer-dancers to work with lead dancer Kofi Adarkwah to develop a dance performance element to their show.
The Ghana based members will arrive in mid May and will stay in the country until a least late October. As some of the group are now based in the UK, they are able to perform at any time.
